Cowboy Doug and Tequila Terri will do a Mounted Shooting Demonstration
in the arena at Tombstone Livery Stable from 3:30 to 4:30.
Doug and Terri are both SASS World Champion Mounted Shooters. Mounted
Shooting is strapping on 2, 45 caliber single action pistols,
climbing on your fastest horse and riding through a designated course while
you shoot out balloon targets with blank ammunition.
The hot embers from the black powder break the balloons if you are within
12 feet of the target. You have to shoot out 5 targets then
holster your first gun and pull your second smoke wagon and go to work
on the next 5 targets. Sometimes the 10 targets are eliminated
and the run is over in less that 13 seconds. And sometimes the Cowgirls
beat the Cowboys at this event. High Action! Come and Watch!
No spectator fee!
